Best sushi plane in LA, try Samurai. Best staff. 5+5 star
sushi... so delicious. Entered near eleven, it wasn't packed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The bill was decent for the quality. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I liked.
Lots of street parking, great service and fresh fish. The sashmi dinner comes with about 30 pieces of fish and it tastes great. The dinner comes with a bowl of miso soup, salad and rice. The miso soup isn't a generic flavor, I think they put a bit a bonito in it that gives if a good twist. The salad has bits of corn to give it a nice crunch. I tried that crispy rice and spicy tuna appetizer but was underwhelmed - I prefer the traditional Japanese dishes here. The Hamachi kama was grilled perfectly. Definitely give this place a try. It's a great sushi restaurant!
First time we've been. Haru is amazing. A whirlwind of personality, talent and expert management of her restaurant and staff. Food was perfection in every sense. Silky shashimi and inventive, subtly balanced rolls. H makes you feel like family and it welcomes you back for even more. So pleased to have found this gem. Rare these days. Quality and value are off the charts.
Sushi, mmm, my favorite treat. Stopped in on a Tuesday. The place has a cool feel to it.
I have eaten in this place many times in the past. This time I came back after maybe not eating there for about a year. The food is still great I had the sushi and the salad. I made the mistake of sitting outside because they were a lot of flies. I should have said inside and it's also quieter inside. I think the flying might have gotten my food because I did feel terrible after eating there. I don't blame the restaurant because it must have been the Flies. I used to love this place because I work nearby but haven't been back in such a long time. This time it was still very pleasant and the food was still great.
Outstanding location for delicious sushi. this place is absolutely outstanding. i look forward to a return trip. the place has a nice atmosphere. ambience reminds me of san diego's scene.
Sweet sushi spot with cute outdoor seatings. The owner is caring and is always there. The fish is always fresh and service is good.
Really decent, fresh sushi that has good lunch specials. My husband ordered the three handroll special for lunch , and I ordered the mixed sushi special with two cut rolls. It came with greens and miso soup, and we were both quite satisfied by the amount of food as well as the quality. They also have good iced green tea.
For sushi, it's easy to tell when fish is fresh or not. The sashimi plate was melt-in-your-mouth good. I don't know if that makes sense, but the point is it was quality fish! My friend and I stopped by around 12pm and we didn't have to wait for a table. For the price, you're getting pretty good quality sushi and I can't believe it. Originally I came here expecting to spend a lot of money but it only cost us around $53 for two combos and the Lava Stone roll. Will definitely come back again if I'm in the area.
Very attentive from the owner who is always there along 3 to 4 other sushi chefs to all their staff. The good from the menu is excellent for the low pricing they have but their off menu rolls are just spectacular. Here is a photo of one. Don’t ask the name because we never ask 🣠âï¸ ðŸ· ðŸ»
Omg this place is everything! It has heart and soul and flavor sensations I haven’t had in a very long time. Top-notch sushi. The halibut made me wet myself â¤ï¸ðŸ˜ŽðŸ¤—.
Excellent authentic Nigiri, creative and delicious Maki rolls. Would definitely visit again!
Cozy little place. Great food and service. At least for lunch the prices were very reasonable.
My favorite sushi spot in LA. I drive here from the east side just so I can enjoy their food and especially their service and have been doing this since they opened, which I think was in 2009. Super reasonable prices. Great for date night or for groups. Always fresh and excellent quality and if you don't know what to order, you can ask for a recommendation.
We love this sushi place, it beats every place we have tried and the staff are incredible
This place is a hidden gem. It’s small and casual, but they use good quality ingredients. We enjoyed the Lava Stone (spicy tuna on crispy rice) and San Vicente roll. It’s affordable and they have great service. We made reservations for 7pm. If you’re arriving around 6:30, you don’t need to make a reservation. It was a full house by 7:30pm. Parking is easy: they have free parking spots in the neighborhood around the corner after 6pm. There are also some paid meter spots (pay until 8pm).
Came here for my friend's birthday and was blown away by how friendly everyone was, minus the fact that they requested us to be out a little earlier than intended due to the size of our party. Our food was great and I don't think I've ever seen friends order as much sushi as they did that day. We'll definitely recommend this place however I do wish they had the buttery garlic edamame. luckily they had butter in the kitchen so I made it better myself.
The food was great! I will go there again definitely
Sushi and the scene here is very good. Super savory. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back.
Food was really good and fresh. I've never had sushi before, I always get the rolls, shrimp tempura is my go to. Last night was my first experience and it was amazing. The sushi was so fresh and and the rolls were cooked to perfection. Didn't do five stars because it was a little loud and I feel like i was having to yell just to speak with my friend and our server. Overall very nice place I would return and also recommend to others.
Very tasty and fresh!!!! A little bit of wait, but it worth it!!!
Staff were very nice/polite and the food was tasty except avocado on the sushi was not fresh & for the first time I got rainbow sushi without yellow tail but with shrimp I'm not sure if it's a problem thou. Overall I liked the experience
The owner Haru is so awesome! She is so funny, humble, knowledgeable about gluten-free needs, & accommodating. The restaurant is very noisy because it is small and so popular! Reservations are a must after 7 PM. Haru got us special delicious dressings & sauces for the salmon skin salad, & Tamari instead of soy sauce. My tongue is still dancing from the tangy flavors! Omg- the albacore with caramelized French-fried onion curls is to die for! (But not gluten-free)And there's even a brown rice option for the sushi.
It was good, but nothing crazy. Quality for the price you pay and I did enjoy that black cod we got. The wait got big fast and the outside area couldn't hold everyone very well. Patio wasn't a bad place to sit but a little cold. After asking they helped by turning on the heater.
Great sushi place. Got there around noon by 1 pm it was packed. Fast service, quality food.
If you know your sashimi game, you will notice the real fish taste here.
Freshest sushi in town!!! “H†was very fun and energetic! Will return!
Amazing food, super small seating space, make reservations in advance
Great atmosphere, the place looks great. Seats are comfortable and waiters are nice. The food is even better! I got the pop corn scallop and it's one of my favorite rolls after years of eating sushi. The entire exotic roll menu sounds delicious and I can't wait to try them all again!
A preferred site for Sushi. Everyone at our table was glad to be there. Looking forward to returning with my friends. This place has a great design.
At least in the top 5 sushi restaurants that I've ever been to. It was a busy night when we visited and we didn't have reservations and they were able to accommodate us, albeit after a fairly lengthy wait. Nonetheless it was worth it.
Great food and good service
My favorite sushi place in LA. Service beyond excellent and food very tasty. Don’t waste your time elsewhere. Highly recommended
Haru has the best sushi in LA for a 2$$ sign search. Nice Patio overlooking San Vicente avenue in Beverly Hills. Friendly service and food comes quick. Lava stone is interesting and reminds me of a basque tapas dish. Eggplant carpaccio is delicious and much better than I had anticipated when my wife ordered it. Green tea ice cream is a great finisher along with chocolate cake and banana tempura. Prices are about right for what you get.
My only complaint is that it's always crowded! Other than that the portions are plentiful, the fish is always fresh and delicious, and the owners are friendly and accommodating.
Great real Japanese sushi place
Haru & Kuni are THE BEST! Been enjoying their freshest sushi in LA for 10+ years! Love the food, ambiance, and everyone who works there makes it a great experience every single time we go there. Thank you!
The food was amazing! As soon as we came in they hurried to make everything perfect for us and accommodated us. They were kind to cut the chicken into smaller pieces for the kids! Great staff. We will definitely come back.
A family owned Japanese restaurant offering great sushi.
Best sushi in LA
Was fine. Good tasting. Was bumped mnay times by staff trying to get orders from the sushi bar but it is a small space so not a big deal.
Had a wonderful time here. The staff is very friendly, the selection is great, and the prices is very reasonable. You might have to call ahead for reservations but we got very lucky just walking in. You should definitely check this place out.
